Miami Today Highlights WEG Economic Impacts of the Miami Heat – Win or Lose!

As the NBA season draws to an end, Miami Today reflects on the positive economic impacts felt by the Miami-Dade County community. The article quotes the Economic Impact Study produced by Washington Economics Group, Inc. (WEG) in 2012. Drawing over 40,000 fans to the Miami area for each game and supporting over 21,000 jobs, the Miami Heat and the American Airlines Arena generates almost $1.4 billion in total economic impact and $27 million in public revenues for state and local governments.
