Tony Villamil, WEG Founder and Principal was interviewed by Marcia Heroux Ponds on the robust economic recovery of Florida in 2014. He agrees Florida is outpacing the nation in payroll growth. Payroll in the State has jumped about 26 percent in 2014 and increased over 2 percent in 2013, while the nation’s growth has remained sluggish at about 1 percent. “The State also is benefiting from a rise in sales tax revenues, which are up 7 percent so far in 2014 and jumped 6.5 percent a year agao thanks to skyrocketing tourism and a boost in consumer confidence” he added.
