WEG Founder and Principal, Tony Villamil, was interviewed by Jeff Ostrowski, Staff Writer of the Palm Beach Post, on the latest report of Florida Employment numbers. Florida’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate was 6.3% in August, up from 6.2% in July, the state Department of Economic Opportunity said Friday. The US unemployment rate, meanwhile, dipped to 6.1% last month from 6.2% in July. August’s increase in unemployment rate owes more to summer doldrums than to any weakness in the economy said Tony Villamil, adding that he sees possible troubles ahead for next year as Florida’s trading partners face tough economic conditions. “There are some downside risks tied to the global economy, the Eurozone is close to recession, and that’s certainly not positive for us and the Brazilian economy also is close to recession.” Villamil said.
