Villamil Interviewed by Sun-Sentinel on the Florida’s Economy Recovery

Florida fared better then the outlook for planned job cuts by US employers, which climbed 41% in October. Florida announced 645 layoffs in October, a decreased from 1,800 in September. According to a Sun-Sentinel interview of Tony Villamil, WEG Founder and Principal Advisor and Dean of the School of Business at St. Thomas University, this is due to the fact that “Florida tends to have fewer planned job cuts because its economy is more small-business based with less manufacturing than other parts of the county.”
