WEG Founder and Principal Quoted in the Sun-Sentinel on Challenges Facing Florida

Tony Villamil, WEG Founder and Principal and Dean of School of Business at St. Thomas University, was interviewed by Marcia Heroux Pounds for an October 16th article in the Sun-Sentinel on Florida’s growth challenges. According to a recent study by the Florida Chamber Foundation, Florida’s economy grew by more than $30 billion from 2011 and 2012, however “challenges remain including attracting more high-wage jobs and more venture capital.”  Villamil suggests that “in spite of all our efforts for diversity (of jobs), our competitive edge still hold – hospitality” which pays less than the state’s average annual wage.  Read full article
