WEG’s Study on the Economic Impact of the Miami Heat and the AmericanAirlines Arena Highlighted in the Miami Herald

In a November 26th Miami Herald article, WEG’s analysis on the economic impacts generated by the Miami Heat Team and the American Airlines Arena on an ongoing basis was highlighted.  According to the article and WEG’s study, “the Heat and the Arena bring more than $1.4 billion and more than 21,000 jobs to the economy each year.” According to WEG Study, the economic impact estimates of the entities not only took into account the “$439 million in direct benefits, such as the team’s operating expenses and spending by out-of-town teams and visitors, but also ‘externalities – intangible benefits’ attributable to the presence of a successful sports franchise.”
