Villamil Comments on the Increase in Food Stamps among Floridians

Although the recession officially ended almost three year ago, more Floridians are on food stamps. “The number of recipients shows the State hasn’t climbed out of the depths of the recession” said Tony Villamil, dean of St. Thomas University’s School of Business and Principal Economic Advisor to The Washington Economics Group, in an interview with Donna Gehrke-White, reporter of South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “It takes several years of good growth,” Villamil added. “The weight of the recession is still hanging on us”
