WEG Founder and Principal Advisor Participates in Quarterly Business Advisory Board

As a member of the Daily Business Review’s Business (DBR) Advisory Board, WEG Founder and Principal Advisor and Dean of School of Business at St. Thomas University, Tony Villamil, participated in the final 2012 meeting of the Advisory Board on December 12, 2012. To discuss the outlook for 2013, DBR convened their group of 11 top professionals in the areas of economics, finance and law among others.  Considering the outlook for early 2013,  Tony Villamil said “as far as the local economy, we can see an improving trend,” adding that, “Miami-Dade is doing better than many of the 67 counties in Florida…certain parts of the state are still in semi-recession.” On the impact of Latin American markets on South Florida Villamil said, “Latin American economic strength continues to buoy South Florida, though Europe has emerged as a drag on economic growth. We still have a growing Brazil, a growing Colombia, but U.S. exports are down as a result of the Euro Zone recession.”
