In the June employment report released by the State of Florida on July 19th, unemployment slightly rose to 6.1% from 5.8% last month. Marcia Pounds from the Sun Sentinel interviewed WEG Founder and Principal Advisor, Tony Villamil on the employment trends for Florida and Broward County at this mid-point of 2013. According to Villamil, “we are seeing progress compared to a year ago,” adding that “Broward County has come in relatively stronger than Miami-Dade and Palm Beach.” Villamil attributes this to Broward “becoming the center of activity for small and startup businesses.” Read full article
